Philosophy of Education

“But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect.”  1 Peter 3:15

I believe that regardless of what I teach, I am called to be a witness and keep my classroom Christ-centered.

I believe classrooms should be low-anxiety environments because students learn better when they feel safe.

I believe teachers should acknowledge students’ individual needs because not all students learn the same way.

I believe students benefit from being active in the community because they can learn important life skills that may not present themselves in the explicit curriculum.

I believe in group work and whole-class discussions that help expose students to other perspectives.

I believe in accountability of actions and forgiveness of sins because students can learn from their mistakes, but their mistakes won’t condemn them.
