Philosophy of Education

• I believe that school should be student-centered because when students feel they are important they learn more.
• I believe that my role as a teacher is to present knowledge in a God-fearing atmosphere because I have the chance to be a minister of Christ no matter where I am teaching.
• I believe that schools should be more accepting of diversity because this gives kids another level of learning when they are presented with other cultures in school.
• I believe that teachers should use every day to make an impact on their students’ lives because school is so much more than just a place to learn basic knowledge but also a place for moral development.
• I believe that students should all be treated equally because when certain students feel like they are less and they do not belong, they do not have the best environment to learn.
• I believe that schools need to focus on life skills because students need to learn the real life application of their learning at school and that it is worthwhile.
• I believe that high school is a vital developmental time in students lives because these are the years that begin to establish who they are in life.
• I believe that teaching in a classroom is a great way to minister because of a teacher as the opportunity to teach students in a God-fearing manner.
• I believe that when in the classroom the best practice is to always be positive because when the teacher is positive then the students are more likely to be positive.
• I believe that a teacher’s teaching is not limited to just their subject area because a teacher has the ability to influence moral development.
• I believe that common core is useful in some subjects and classes because there are certain things that students have to learn at specific times in their development.
• I believe that my role as a high school teacher is to be concerned about students emotional well being just as much as their educational well being because in high school all students need someone who is concerned about them.
• I believe that when dealing with delicate issues such as abuse of a student a teacher should immediately seek help from administrators because it is an issue that needs to be handled carefully with as many people as possible.
