TED-ED (https://blog.ed.ted.com/2016/06/07/whats-the-difference-between-a-scientific-law-and-theory-in-ted-ed-gifs/):A scientific law predicts the results of certain initial conditions. It might predict your unborn child’s possible hair colors, or how far a baseball travels when launched at a certain angle. In contrast, a theory tries to provide the most logical explanation about why things happen as they do. A theory might invoke dominant and recessive genes to explain how brown-haired parents ended up with a red-headed child, or use gravity to shed light on the parabolic trajectory of a baseball. I found that this was a good site that provided detailed examples, gifs, and a video explaining and distinguishing laws and theories. It also explains about the importance of incorrect theories. Uses analogies like saying a scientific law is a finely tuned machine and a theory is a bruised, unbowed fighter who takes risks.National
How Stuff Works (https://science.howstuffworks.com/innovation/scientific-experiments/10-scientific-laws-theories.htm):A scientific law can often be reduced to a mathematical statement, such as E = mc²; it’s a specific statement based on empirical data, and its truth is generally confined to a certain set of conditions. A scientific theory often seeks to synthesize a body of evidence or observations of particular phenomena. It’s generally though by no means always a grander, testable statement about how nature operates. You can’t necessarily reduce a scientific theory to a pithy statement or equation, but it does represent something fundamental about how nature works. I foumjlkjlkjnd that this site to explained a law as a more data driven answer and a scientific theory as more of a statement that is based of observation to explain how something works.
Stanford Correspondence Theory of Truth (https://plato.stanford.edu/entries/truth-correspondence/): This page explains the Correspondence Theory of Truth in relation to science and the human perception of truth. Goes into great detail about the relation of characteristics and the reality that we are able to examine. There are many specific words that they display to show how we try to perceive truth.
Science Briefss (https://sciencebriefss.com/science-explained/scientific-concepts/five-important-scientific-theories-that-have-changed-the-world-science-explained): This page displays five of the most influential scientific theories that have changed our perception of the world to what it is today. They provide the history of how they were found and also how it played a role in our lives to this day. Very interesting and includes many additional sources to look at.
