Concordia has given me many opportunities to showcase my leadership skills. I spent the majority of freshman year getting to know my new home and acquainting myself with the community and the school as a whole, so my leadership abilities were mainly shown in the classroom and in my interactions with friends and other people on campus. Sophomore year was when many leadership doors were opened to me. I joined the Praise committee as a worship opener/closer. I led a Fight Club bible study in my apartment every week. I was asked to be a Launch co-chairmen for Launch 2016 and the following Launch 2017. I was also a co-manager for A Cappella’s Pacific Northwest spring break tour. Furthermore, I was influential in the planning of our major, three week tour in South Africa in the summer of 2017. I am very comfortable in leadership roles and plan to use those skills to my advantage in the classroom. Also, it enables me to recognize the need for my students to develop their own leadership skills while they are in my classroom.
