Empty Classroom

One thing that I have found to be important in education is that every child should have the opportunity to go to a good school. Education is the major cornerstone of our society, and there are too many children in the nation that don’t receive a quality education. Most of these issues are due to geographical separation and socioeconomic status. It’s terrible that so many parents don’t have the option to send their kids to an adequate school. If children don’t have the opportunity to receive a good education, then they will be stuck in their situation and won’t have the future options they deserve. Therefore, it is my personal mission to provide my students with opportunities to succeed to the best of my ability. I intend to make sacrifices and push them hard to reach their own potential.

Jesus and LambI also find faith formation to be a pertinent discussion in Christian education. As a Christian educator, I am not only concerned with my students’ physical and mental state, but their spiritual state as well. It is far more important for my students to feel the love of Christ than to learn the content that I have for them everyday. I will give my best effort in teaching my students what they are there to learn, but I will also intentionally build relationships centered on Christ. “The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.” – 1 John 2:17

Child LaughingI also form my teaching around the idea that every child is different.  God created all of us as special individuals with special abilities and gifts. Each student that walks into my classroom is going to have a different past and a different personality. Similarly, each student is going to come in with some sort of issue or baggage that will hinder their learning. I intend to think critically about every student’s learning abilities and teach efficiently to help them learn and succeed.
