Philosophy of Education
- I believe that I should first and foremost seek to show God’s love to my students, so that I might be able to have an effect on their spiritual life.
- I believe that my role as a Theology teacher in a Lutheran school is to articulate Lutheran doctrine to the best of my ability.
- I believe that my duty as a teacher of the Gospel is to welcome ideas from all different religions that may be represented in my classroom because this could lead to class discussion, one of the most effective forms of learning.
- I believe that my role as a teacher is to implement multiple and diverse strategies to keep my students engaged in the content because not every student learns the same way.

- I believe that the curriculum I teach should involve some form of group work because, in many circumstances, students learn better from their peers than from their teacher.
- I believe that religion classes should be applicable to students’ experiences because I not only want to teach them, I want to enrich their lives.
- I believe that teachers should be above reproach and should be on guard to not put themselves into dangerous situations.
- I believe that my role as a teacher is to protect my students in any way that I see fit: spiritually, physically, or emotionally.

- I believe that each student that walks into my classroom is an opportunity to build a relationship centered on Christ.
- I believe that school sports give students the opportunity to work on skills and have experiences that can’t be offered in a classroom.
- I believe that Christian schools should seek every opportunity for their students to have missional experiences, whether that be in their community or around the world.
