In the Spring 2018 semester I student taught at Concordia Preparatory School in Baltimore, MD. While there, I taught World History for the sophomore class. This lesson plan was for our study of the Russian Revolution. The students loved the opportunity to create their own propaganda!
In the Fall 2017 semester I took Methods of Secondary Religion. In this class, one of our assignments was to develop courses for a Lutheran Middle School/High School. We were required to write course descriptions for each class and demonstrate what our thought-pattern was in choosing the classes. Then, we were told to take each class and write out a curriculum map displaying what our students would be learning. Finally, we took one of our classes and implemented a work of Christian Literature. I chose to read Out of the Silent Planet by C.S. Lewis and implemented it into my Apologetics course. This was a fantastic assignment as it showed me how far I have come in developing lesson plans and curriculums. There is absolutely room for improvement, but I feel prepared for what lies ahead in my career.
