I had the opportunity to spend a weekend at His Kids Camp at Camp Luther Nebraska.  While I was there my camper and I were able to share stories, make crafts, hike around camp, learn bible stories, and even carve pumpkins!  It was a blast getting to know my camper and the other campers experiencing camp!  The most rewarding part of this experience was seeing the joy all the campers had for even the simplest of tasks. 

I also had the opportunity to aid with an after school art program at Culler Middle School in Lincoln.  This experience has shown me how we live in a very diverse country and it is important to build each other up instead of tearing each other down.

What I have learned through these experiences:

• We are loved children of God
• Important to care for one another
• Important to have patience with one another
• It’s my job to share God’s love with those I encounter
