This link talks about how boats float. It talks about how the object displaces the water. Depending on the weight of the object is how much it gets displaced.

This is a video link that looks at balloons floating and sinking. It shows how hot and cold water have different densities.

This link talks about water and buoyancy. Warm water has more molecules that have more energy compared to colder water. This makes warm water less dense.
