What I did:
For my practicum experience I was able to go Mrs. Sample’s 6th grade math period at Milford Elementary. I got to observe her classroom, assist students with math problems, and teach lessons. I was able to teach lessons on fractions, decimals, place value, and pie charts, using iPad technology such as the apps “Educreations” and “Pattern Shapes.”
What I learned:
I learned a number of things in my practicum experience. My practicum teacher was great about letting me take over her classroom and start teaching lessons how I wanted to, and I was able to experience my lesson plans working out really well and my lesson plans working out not quite as well. I got to try teaching lessons in different ways and grow in my confidence in teaching math.
