Unit 3 Weblinks

This is a fun website that, each day, posts a “Wonder of the Day.” One of the wonders of the day was, “Why do some drinks sweat?” I felt that this went perfectly with our unit and homework questions asking about why pipes are sweaty. This link answers the question perfectly and helps us gain a better understanding why some drinks sweat as well as a description of what condensation is.

This website is a page explaining what kinetic energy is. It’s more for my own use when I need a refresher on what the Kinetic theory of gasses is. It includes the history, assumptions, equilibrium and transport properties which may be important one day.

This website is a list of various graphs showing heating curves. This provides a nice visual for me when it comes to learning the change in phases when they are heated.

This video does a great job explaining how the ancient Greek philosophers concluded that atoms existed. He then goes into detail about other philosophers and the history of atomic chemistry. This would be good to show a high school/middle school class or even parts of it to an upper elementary class.
