Build Relationships with Students
- I believe that building a relationship with students is essential for many reasons; it allows the teacher to better cater to her students’ needs, whether academic, spiritual, social, or physical.
- I believe that having a relationship with students also helps with classroom management.
- I believe a teacher should love and have high expectations for all students because they are all children of God, created by him.
Create Engaging Lessons
- I believe the teacher should use methods proven by research (such as Understanding by Design) because they are more likely to be effective in the classroom and make lessons very intentional.
- I believe the frequent use of technology is essential to an education in the 21st century because it will play a crucial part in the future and it gives many learning opportunities and motivates students.
- I believe the presentation of information should be varied and creative because different students learn in different ways and all students deserve to have material presented in the way they learn best.
- I believe student’s interests and ideas should be considered and options should be given because it keeps them involved in their own learning
- I believe a teacher should teach students how to think, not what to think, because students learn more that way and may even go beyond what the teacher knows.
Preach the Gospel
- I believe teaching is a ministry because teachers nurture their students not only academically but also spiritually and emotionally, opening doors for their future.
- I believe that God is the Maker of everything and thus part of all that we do; every topic in school relates back to Him.
- I believe that the Gospel is the only thing a child really needs to learn in my classroom; all else will eventually be forgotten.
