- Faith and Science: Friends or Foes?
- This is an excellent video that explains why faith and science can coexist with one another. I agree with the Michael Frost (Professor of Theology) when he says that he can both buy into science and have faith in God at the same time. In the video he states the following: “the more we discover scientifically, to me all that does is invite me further and further into the wonder and the complexity and the beauty of the cosmos.” I couldn’t agree more!
- What is Intelligent Design?
- This article defines intelligent design and answers the following two questions: Is intelligent design creationism? Is intelligent design a scientific theory? Intelligent design refers to a scientific research program as well as a community of scientists, philosophers and other scholars who seek evidence in design of nature. This a very interesting topic that we learned about in Unit 7.
- Is Open Science a Better Science?
- This article ultimately answers the following question: Is open science a better science? In addition, this article also takes a look at the difference between theistic science and open science. Furthermore, the article explains methodological naturalism, a closed science. This is a proposal to restrict the freedom of scientists by requiring that they include only natural causes in their theories. Overall, this is a very interesting article!
- Science vs. Philosophy of Science:
- This is a simple video that defines and contrasts science vs. the philosophy of science. I was able to have a better understanding of these two things as a result. Enjoy!
