Below are the four links that relate to Unit 2 of our class (Color Phenomena):
- How Color Blind People See the World:
- What is color blindness? How do color blind people see the world? And how many people in the world are affected by color blindness? This video provides an exemplary presentation in order to answer each one of these questions.
- Color Psychology: Does It Affect How You Feel?
- Do you feel anxious in a yellow room? Does the color blue make you feel calm and relaxed? Artists and interior designers have long believed that color can dramatically affect moods, feelings, and emotions. Color is a powerful communication tool and can be used to signal action, influence mood, and even influence psychological reactions. This is a fascinating article that relates with our current unit in class: color phenomena. Enjoy!
- How Rainbows Form:
- This video discusses how rainbows form along with some surprising facts about them. For example, it turns out that the sky above a rainbow is darker than below. With the help of refraction of light, dispersion, and the incomplete story people are usually told of why rainbows form, you will learn why this happens!
- Principles of Color and the Color Wheel:
- This is an excellent educational article that provides a basic explanation of the following things: the color wheel, types of color, color schemes, and the trickiness of color. One new thing I learned after reading this article is that the first color wheel has been around for more than 300 years and was developed by Sir Isaac Newton. Fascinating!
