This is a photo of my mom’s side of the  family. We have all lived in Omaha together for about 17 years. This is kind of the first and last whole family picture we have. We got Chloe, our dog, about a year ago. She is a kind of the new addition to the family, especially since this is Alyssa, my sister, and I’s first dog. It is also the last whole family picture because my Grandma passed away this past December. So, this is a really important picture to me, especially because family is so important to me.

My goal is to become an Elementary Teacher, preferably at a private school, but I would be willing to teach in a public school if that is where I am called. I am currently thinking that I would want to teach grades 1 or 2, but again would be willing to teach up to fifth. I would also like to somehow include my Spanish concentration in my teaching. I strongly believe learning another language and exercising that part of your brain impacts your learning in general, but specifically improves your first language as well. Speaking of things that I strongly believe in, I also believe in the incorporation of music or being involved in music outside of the classroom. I believe this helps in subjects like Math and Science, so I could definitely see myself doing my best to encourage those things.

This brings me to my hobbies or likes. I like music which is why I am in Cantamus (Women’s Chorus), Symphonic Band (concert band), and pep band here on campus. I also love languages. I have learned and continue to learn Spanish and would like to learn some more languages in the future. Another really big part of my life is my faith, and that is why I am at this school. These hobbies and likes are also mentioned in my goals because I would like to continue to use and encourage my students to find things they like and continue to grow and use theirs as well.
